You would have to remember to back off the boot when you grease it to let the old stuff out, or you would risk blowing the boot and then it would fail. Also you would have to disassembel and clean it to make sure no metal shavings are left from drilling and that you did not drill into a load bearing area that the balls ride on. Seems to me you would need to be inside the tripod area to hit them all equally, and this still may not get grease to the needle bearings inside the balls. My last 3 failures have been the needels, not the ball to housing wear area. If you do it give us a 50,000 mile report. The right inboad seems to be the problem because of the heat from the exhaust, I've been thinking more along the lines of a heat sheild, my drivers side have gone 300,000 miles with no problem (or new grease)
