Both or just one side? Does the rear window defrost? They are tied together.
Anyways, next step is to test each mirror heat element for continuity and the supply wires for voltage. The mirrors have a small white plastic cog visible when you tilt the top of the mirror back. It has notches that you can get a small screwdriver onto to rotate. Turn this cog (I just did this sunday and can't remember which direction to rotate it) to release the mirror face. Unplug the two wires and test the connectors on the mirror with a voltmeter for continuity (my drivers side mirror was dead - no continuity). Then test the wires from mirror housing (with car running and defrost button pressed) for dc voltage. Should be around 12 volts. If no power then your problem lies in the wiring inside the door - theres a loop/harness that can collect water and corrode.
