Not a common problem, but I may have an explanation. Sometimes the latch that releases the seat back to move forward position gets stuck, the seat does not return to the correct position and is in a very upright. To place the in a good driving position one, not knowing the latch is stuck, the driver uses the black knob at the hinge between the seat bottom and back to put the seat in the correct position. When the latch does release the seat the driver is now in a position of looking at the ceiling. Try turning the black knob at the hinge between the seat bottom and back toward the front of the car and see if that helps. It may be very stiff if it has not been used. The other alternative is the seat back adjusting mechanism is broken and the seat will need to be replaced. I hope this helps.
