Its going pretty well, I have the new engine in and most of the stuff bolted up. The only problems are that transmission link, alternator wiring (figuring out where those 6 or so wires go), and getting the drivers side motor mount in.
For the transmission mount, I am going to try and sway the linkage thing that has the bushing. Its about 5 inches long, and the one on the '85 is longer. I cant figure out how to get that off though. There is like a little pin with a nut on it and I think the idea is youre supposed to knock that pin out and you can separate the shifter linkage without screwing up the alignment. It wont tap out of the bar though. Wont budge.
I think the easiest thing to do is go over to Home Depot and I'm going to buy a metal dowl of the same diameter as shifter linkage and extend it. Then I'll roll a little patch of sheetmetal around the whole thing and put about 3 hoseclamps on it.
Other than that, its almost done. Ive got the axles back in and just need to put the oil dipstick in and turbo tubes. Cant wait to fire the thing up!!!
