I had installed a new AMM as part of my restoration on a mechanic's special. I had set it to the baseline of 380-ohms per Townsend and Bentley. After I got the car running good -eliminating vacuum leaks and tune-up. After about a 1,000 miles I inspected my plugs. They were still still a little on the lean side. It was then that I put the post up last week about tweaking the AMM to get the correct mixture.
I went ahead with the recommended fixes by Ari and Dave N. My car now seems to run slightly better cold and slightly cooler on the temp gauge.
Notice I said "slightly". Don't go tweaking your AMM looking for poor idle or cooling system fixes. I already had the car running good before I started moving off the AMM baseline setting.
