Steve

That's an indicated 255k, as I said, I think it's more like 500+! Thanks for the advice - I'll get cracking over the next two weeks, as i've got them off as well. First hols for about 4 years. Can't wait!

A pull fan is an interesting idea - as I've been looking at doing it as well. I'm trawling SW Euro next Monday or Tuesday for a thermo fan about the right size. SWE have TONS of Saab, BMW and Merc parts, and are really keen Saabists themselves. I'll let you know what they come up with. About the remote i/c fan switch - I'm thinking of running the fan all the time the ignition is on. I'm installing a dual-sided battery called a "DMS", which has a 550AH cranking side and a separate (electronically isolated ) 350AH "deep cycle" side - all within the same casing. The idea here is that the craking side is dedicated to normal battery functions, and the d/c side runs things like steros, spot lights, fridge, and anything else considered "ancilliary". The d/c side can discharge completely without affecting starting voltage from the cranking side as they are isolated and protected from each other. We use these batteries in 4WD applications all the time, and they're great. I'll run the i/c thermo fan off the d/c side, as i said, when the ignition is on. This way, everytning will stay way cooler, and battery starting power won't be compromised. This battery also reduces the strain on the alternator as it is only fed after the cranking side is topped up.

Cheers
Chris
