Where do I start???

I have an 86 900 turbo that I have had now for a couple of months. It was running great until the other day. As I detailed in a previous post I went to accelerate and my baby started coughing and chocking. I pulled over and found one of the fittings into the intake manifold had popped out. (The one that connects to the idler relay) I put the fitting back on and all seemed fine. I started the car the next day and it started but ran like crap. If I pulled a vacuum line off it seemed to run better. It seems to be getting way too much fuel as I have a puddle of soot that exited the tailpipe and deposited itself on the ground. If I try to get on the throttle it wants to choke itself out. It will idle but not very well. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to where to start and what to look for. The problem also seems intermittent as I had a good drive in between first appearance of the problem and my current situation. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and Happy Holidays to ALL!!!!
