Buy a turbo unit from a junk yard and put it on. Probably easier just to sell you car and buy a turbo Saab. Trust me, the turbo is much more fun. you probably havent driven a turbo before I'm guessing.
My first car was a Trans Am w/ 5.0 V8. Lots of fun, an entirely different concept of a fun driving experience though. The Saab does have quite the stomp-from-a-dead-start-kick-in-the-back-tire-smoking ability of a V8 car, but the manual shifters are more fun because you are sitting upright and you get to make the turbo whirl up and sling you along. Anyway, I'm sure everyone here is going to suggest you figure out how to get a turbo on that, but it would be easier to get a turbo car to start with. I got mine for $350, it needed a head gasket, and a paint job, but that was it. 150k miles. They are out there. Before you do anything I would suggest taking a turbo car for a test drive because getting a lot of power out of a non turbo saab of this vintage is going to be relatively hard and expensive... just look at the performance parts costs on spg9.com
