To check the tie rod ends for play. Put them back on the car. Put the wheels back. Now try to move the wheel back and forth (left then right) and feel if there is any play. If there is no play when you move the wheel a litte the other side will do the same. If there is play you have to figure out where it is and that is what you need to replace. There are both inner and outer tie rods. The outer are the ones you removed. The inners are what the outers screw on to. The ball socket for the inners are behind the steering rack bellows. Toe is easy for a shop to set. Caster and Camber are more difficult and yes the drivers side is a litte tricky but the shop will need to get the correct shims from Saab.
