Hi,
I once had a mint '88 gray 9000turbo a couple of years ago. The body was very clean. No rust and never been in a accident. When I waxed it, it looked as if it came out of a showroom about a month ago. One morning I went out to the car and saw that some jerk craved a series of crosses from the quarter panel to the front passenger door!!! I was very angry and felt violated. Like you and the others, I didn't know who did it or how to get even. With color wax it filled in the scratches temporily. Whenever the wax wore out, it reappeared. It really sucks, considering that I am very particular about my car and like orginal paint jobs. I used to park that car far away from other cars just to avoid dings.
What is interesting is that the coward(s) that did this act on your car and mine, probably only had a fleeting moment of joy, while the owner feels the pain for a unnecessary long time. Unfortunately there is nothing to prevent some coward from doing this to your car. It can happen anytime, any place.
I have a near mint '88 SPG and mint '94 Aero. I can't imagine my dream cars being vandalize!!!! At the end, I guess it is just a car, and life goes on. Good luck
Patrick
