OK, I live on a big hill and I tried to go out to run a few errands in a couple of inches of fresh snow. No plows - no salt - no sand. Well, I slid my car into the curb - 1988 SPG wheel first! So, I hit the curb at about 5 mph. I looked at my wheel and there are a few rough edges now. I'm afraid that it's going to damage my tire, but I really don't want to pay dealer prices for a new rim, or have to buy a used one. It doesn't look warped. Is it possible to sand and polish the lip of the rim? Is there any way that I'm going to be able to repair this without breaking the bank? Has anyone else ever had this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
