Hey All,
Came back from a month away from the Saab last night (left it in a parking lot), and found two problems. One, battery dead. Half expected this, got a jump no problem, but when it started, brake fluid light was on. Enter problem number two. Found the reservoir had dropped maybe 1/2 inch. Looked around and saw no obvious leaks, but it was dark and parked on rough asphalt. Gingerly drove home and placed some paper on the ground inside each wheel hoping to find source of the leak this morning. Looked closely this morning and I can't find a leak source. Papers are dry, all calipers and brake lines look dry, as do tires and inside of wheels. Don't see any signs of dripping under the clutch slave. Don't see anything suspicious around the master. Bentley says look for leak between master and vaccuum booster...don't see anything apparent there. No signs of leakage inside the car.
I did the "turn on the car and push down pedal really hard and hold" test... doesn't sink to the floor. Braking seemed normal last night. I'm puzzled. Perhaps the only clue is that I had noticed prior to my absence that sometimes the parking brake didn't seem to completely disengage when I first started the car and drove off. Heard a slight noise as if the brake was sticking, then it would go away. I figure maybe since the parking brake was on for a month, maybe it's related.
Any thoughts, advice? I'm nervous about driving the car when I can't locate the source of the leak.
Thanks,
'Roo
