You have sheared off your oil pump drive

This is a common failure on SAAB 900 automatics -- the prongs on the torque convertor and transmission oil pump which engage one another to drive the oil pump get messed up because there is not adequate support to prevent the oil pump and torque convertor from wobbbbllling a bit relative to one another and wearing away the prongs. Without an oil pump, your trans has no pressure to engage any gears at all, since the shifting is handled by what is essentially a hydraulic analog computer, converting various kinds of signals into hydraulic pressure information inside the transmission valve body. You'll have to have a new torque convertor and oil pump installed at the very least, but it's quite likely that it's time for a whole trans rebuild, since the drive train is going to have to come out anyway.
