What about taxi cabs?

I hate to rain on the parade, but taxis in Australia (Ford and GM) are regularly getting the best part of a million k's (600,000 miles) on an engine. margins are so tight these days that proper maintenance schedules see them replace engines willy nilly at an astonishingly low rate. I'm sure that this may not be the case in America where locally built cars are more "throw away" than here - and far less expensive.
