Hesitation after a cold start

I tried several searches on this bulletin board for this "problem." Both my 1991 and 1993 900s's do this but the older one is much more pronounced. When accelerating after a cold start car losses power just breifly. I would call it a "lean surge". The 1991 got real bad just before it blew it's head gasket. After I replaced the gasket it almost stopped but I think there is a background level that is other than the head gasket. I have cleaned all the Fuel Injection Sensor connectors and checked for vacuum leaks. Also tried swapping AMM's but that did nothing. I suspected the coolant temp sensor that threads through the intake maniford but it tests OK. Car starts right up and idles nicely at about 8-900 RPM. If idled for no more than two minutes it doesn't appear to do it. Plugs look clean as does exaust pipe and gas mileage is good. Car is in NE Ohio.
