I'm just pretty confident he'll know the answers. I just finished an auto-->5 spd conversion on a base 1990 car. A couple of minutes with a timing light convinced me that the timing is unaffected by distributor postition. However, I almost have to believe that there is some preferred mounting position when reinstalling. I noticed a nice factory index mark at the base of the distrib. Should it be lined up with something?
Secondly, I drove the car around the block a couple of times and noticed something wierd. There's no speedo in it so I know some signal to the ECU is absent and the CE light comes on. When I got on it, the fuel pump seemed to cut out like at over-rev, except that it was at 4000 rpm. Any thoughts?
As always, TIA!
