it may be that the stud has snapped and the other end is still in the head. when doing the head gasket on my 90 900t, i found that this was the case, altho i can't say if it snapped by itself or if somebody working on the car snapped it and never bothered to drill it out and replace it. if it *has* merely vibrated out, i found exhaust studs with threads to match at a local hardware store. remember to get a washer too... unless there's an exhaust leak between the head and manifold, i'd likely ignore it. mine was missing for at least 20k miles, no effect... i could be wrong :) good luck!
