I disagree. Winter air is better than summer air

The guys advocating winter air are probably kidding you. However, there's some truth to it that they don't know about.
Low humidity air is good for tire life. Given a choice, I try to fill the air when it's not humid or rainy. Moist air degrades the tire slightly. Cold air tends to have lower humidity.
If I were an Arab oil sheik, I'd fill the tires with nitrogen instead of air, but this is impractical. Aircraft tires are sometimes filled with nitrogen.
I heard that a 32 psi tire at 70-80 degrees (30 degrees C) will be about 26 psi at either 0 or 32, I don't remember which. Air also tends to leak if the days are hot and nights cold.
