You are in luck as you have a 88+ model. It is much easier than the earlier models where you had to have a "special" tool to rotate the piston back in.
Anyway it's very easy to do and goes like this:
1. Jack up the car. Remove the wheel.
2. Use the adjustable pliers (from the trunk toolbox) to press the pads and brake piston back in a bit.
3. Remove the caliper mount bolt and pivot the the caliper up.
4. Remove the old pads, and clean the piston area (use brake cleaner).
5. Using the pliers, press the caliper back in enough to slide the new pads in.
6. Put your anti-squeal gunk on the backing pad of the new pads. wait a few minutes to let it set up.
7. Put the pads in, swivel the caliper back down, and tighten the bolt back on. (SAAB recomends using a new caliper mounting bolt as they are designed to be used once only)
that's it....It's about a 30 minute job to do both wheels (and that includes a 10 minute break to have a beer while the anti-squeal goo sets up)...
enjoy...
