is there another Jeff below posting about corrosion in the slave piston?
rebuilds depend on the condition of the piston and you won't know until you are there. considerably cheaper, but this may be why yours died already.
the whole clutch kit (get the one for the turbo) is around $150 and has all you need (except crank seal and maybe pilot brg.) Buying the slave alone is $80-$90 so you may as well do it all. if you're doing it yourself and have the time have the flywheel turned since you likely don't know if it was done with the previous clutch job (if your was done 40K ago its maybe ok). some don't turn the flywheel, others say its a necessity.
for your sanity, do the job while you still have some clutch pressure.
