Yesterday I borrowed the keys from my mechanic, went down to his warehouse and aquired a front bar for my 89 900 off a half cut. Boy was fun (and tempting) being alone in a warehouse full of saab parts with many halfcuts, a early 900T H engine with IC, rare 99T 3 door, Tubo 9000, tubos galore....I don't think my mechanic will miss much of what I took, unfortunately I couldn't lift and fit a 16v turbo engine into my boot :o)

Anyway, fitting the front bar was kind of fun, it required two pepople in the end to maonouver and twist the bar into position. I also replaced the bushes in the bracket with nolothane items....I still need to do some further modification to to make em sit properly (we don't get nolothane bushes for Saabs in Australia, I used a part that looked similar and modded to fit.

The verdict: The 900 already had a rear bar, the front bar now causes it to push wide when driven very hard into corners, although at a higher limit than previously. I will try tightening up the rear end to try an balance this out. Body roll is still apparent, although less than before, I would like it if it was a little more stiffer but I figure more nolothane and a nice set of lower springs will help.
