The point of clutch engage has to do with several factors. But a clutch that disengages as soon as you push the pedal is not necessaily a bad thing (although I agree it can be a tad annoying.) If it disengages early, the clutch could be new (having more friction material, requiring less slave cylinder movement to disengage), or your hydraulic system could be really tight(as far as the pressure goes) so that little effort is required to move the release arm.

I'm not sure if the 900 clutch has a "freeplay" adjustment (I suspect it does...well, at least my Sonett does, and it seems like a good and normal thing to have...)

The OTHER problem described by Tyler, sounds like either low clutch hydraulic pressure or a worn clutch plate (or maladjusted freeplay, if an adjustment is possible). Since it is fairly new, I'd suspect that whover replaced the clutch didn't do all that great a job bleeding the line properly, and you have maybe some air in the line....I'd try "pressure bleeding" the clutch line to see if the clutch point rises. The pedal will probably feel firmer when you do this as well....
