I'm getting ready to replace my shift linkage connector in a 1993 900S. I have the part and I've found some verbal descriptions of the replacement job. Has anyone done this repair? I am looking for instructions that make sense so I can get under my car and do the job without having to figure it out while I'm doing it. (Winter in Michigan is pretty cold) From what I've read on a 93 900, I think the key is to have the transmission in 4th gear and the shift lever in the 4th gear position, because, if I understand right, there are some holes to stick a 6 mm tool or 6 mm drill bit into that put the stick shift and transmission parts in the exact alignment. Then remove the connector and replace with new one. Do I loosen the sleeve on the old connector towards the firewall? How is the other end connected? The new part just has holes in the cylider shaped end that is towards the transmission. Is this for a nut and bolt, or a shear pin or a cotter pin? Am I missing anything? Does it sound like I have a reasonable understanding? Or am I in for a surprise? Any feedback would be appreciated. If you could e-mail me an answer, I'd be forever in your debt. (rosengbr@http://wwwinc.com) Thanks, Brek
