I need to adjust my idle mixture screw on my '82 Turbo 900 but don't have a CO meter. I've seen posts indicating that reading from O2 might be substituted, but no specs. I.E. what is my target voltage from the O2 sensor? I'm guessing .4 or .5 volts (isn't that mid-range?). I'm getting really bad gas milage and think this may be the culprit. It was reading .9v when I checked it, so I tweaked the mixture screw and got it down to .1v, but I had not acceleration and I tweaked it back up to .4V. But where do I want it? Isn't the CO meter suggested for pollution concerns? If I just want to optimize the milage it would seem that O2 is the better reference anyway.
