Installing headliner this weekend on 3dr

Got the material & shell is prepped. Buying the appropriate 3M adhesive
tonight.
The question. My car is an 87T with sunroof, so the headliner shell has the hole.
Which is preferred direction to roll the material for glue attachment, front to back (assume start center near dome light hole), or left to right straddling over the sunroof hole. Yes, I have read the FAQ and I don't believe it speaks to this detail.
Please, those whom have been there, advise. I was suitably warned by the supplier of material that this is not much fun.
