Brake pads reversed?

If your pads and disc are moderately worn, reversing the pads (inboard before is outboard after) could cause some low frequency rumble as the wear pattern on the disc will not match the pads. (I'm trying to recall the set up and if this is possible, I haven't done brakes on a 900 in a while)
Also, if you replaced the inner drive bearing, are you sure the spring at the end of the driver was in place?
Hope this helps.
