There are a few coolant sensors...

One on the radiator, left side, about 1/3 down from the top. This one turns the radiator fan(s) on.

One in the upper radiator hose, this one prevents the AC from running if the antifreeze gets too hot.

Two more, one near thermostat & one in the head kind of in between a couple of runners of the intake manifold. I'll have to check my manual which is which, but one just runs the dashboard gauge & the other tells the ECU how hot the engine is.

I think the ECU sensor is the one in the head. That's the only one which should cause starting problems. I suppose if the computer thinks the engine is hot, it would not deliver enough gas. However, it would probably start (mayby with some difficulty) & run poorly, & stall frequently until warm. Not sure, but I thought I read somewhere that the common way for these to fail results in the computer believing the engine is cold all the time. If that's true, it should start OK but run rich after it gets hot.

What exactly do you mean by "not starting"?
