have a 91 900s 5spd with 96kmiles. i bougth this car for around 3500 and put did a timing chain job and valve cover gasket and few other stuff. the side trimming, the thingy over the left rear wheel, has rusted and peeled. there is a big hole in the hood due to rus, can't seem to find a used hood in rochester,ny for under 100 bucks. everyone wants 300-500 for a used black hood.

recently i noticed some coolant leak and did a coolant system pressure test and as predicted there is a leak in the head gasket as there is some oil and cooolant which came out during the test. this is still on the outside and dont think its gone in the interior as yet. fixing it is 750 bucks and plus there is some oil leak which needs to be done. ala in all this cost will put the cost of repairs on this baby at close to 2500 bucks which doesnt do too much justice as i have no ideas as to what else can go wrong. think i may trade it in for something...yes still looking at a saab - the mehie had one a 1991 900s 4 dr with 123k miles. he claims its in good condition..what should i be looking for - he claims timing chain is oki, though i have no clues as to how he can say that without going deep in it. he is selling it for 5k. he also sells some 'vins' warranty which he says i can buy for 500bucks for a year which covers engine/tranny etc....
