Here's the story. Couple weeks ago had a real nice puddle on the passenger side rear floor and the front was also wet. So, I pulled out the interior..carpets, seats, etc. There was a good 2" of water underneath the carpet in the back. Put front seats back in so it is drivable. I'm thinking the top is allowing water in around the rear window and the quarter windows. It has been needing a new top anyway so I'm getting that this week but...
The foam padding around the front footwell on the passenger side is wet and has not dried out in the week the car has been carpet free. Yesterday the car was soaked again after a rain/snow/sleet storm.
I have checked out the ventilation air intake for clogging and it is fine. Checked all drainage tubes attached to the intake and they are also not clogged.
Where then is the water getting through on the passenger front side? Is it the windsheild? The foam along the firewall is not wet...just in that corner next to the wheelwell (next to the electronic engine control box).
I also noticed one of the drain plugs is missing from the bottom of the passenger side rear quarter panel. I ordered that plug from the dealer so I can replace it.
After the top is finished I'm going to leave the carpet out until I solve this....until then...
Does anyone have some thoughts on what to check for allowing water into the interior?
