Why did you replace the master to slave line in the first place? Was it due to the slightly spongy pedal and the new line didn't fix it?
I ask because I'm playing with similar clutch oddities. My mechanic swears the slave is fine, but after a bit of driving my pedal gets soft. Always firm in the morning and after the car has been driven a while. In our troubleshooting my mech. I asked about this supply line being problematic. He said that a leak in that line may allow air in, but it would rise and not affect the pedal or master. By the way, I've got no leaks whatsoever.
I've looked into replacing that supply line (res. to master) and was suggested to use fuel line by a respected BB sponsor. It couldn't be easier to replace so you may as well do it and rule it out.
How's your slave cylinder look? Any leaks? Please follow us up on this when you track it down - I'd be interested to hear what you find.
