I had the problem the other day when I followed the advice in Bentley stating that you should crush the fuel lines to help change the fuel filter. I emailed Bentley in the vain hope of getting them to ammend this in the next issue - and at least advise DIY'ers to expect split lines, etc, etc.
WELL.....
I got this back from them this morning....

Chris,
Great point taken. I'll try and use your advice in ALL future publications,
as applicable. I never thought of this, but it sure is obvious once brought
to one's attention. Did you use the hoop type clamp or the forbidden pliers
(which I have done many times myself). Just curious if the hoop type clamps
would treat an old hose any better?
Thanks for writing Bentley Publishers. This type of feedback is what helps
us make better manuals.
Regards,
Charles A. Burke

How good is that? This email had been bounced around Bentley to a number of editors and marketing staff - ALL of whom sent me a personal reply! All are concerned with my email...and I genuinly feel that they want to make the change to the next edition! :) :) :)
I've suggested that they get on to Scott Patterson and sponsor the site....let's hope they do! Great publisher.
