A regular short 1/2" drive socket will work fine if you use it with a breaker bar rather than a ratchet. If you don't want to crank the engine to break the bolt loose (I don't), you'll need to keep the flywheel from turning. Saab makes a gizmo for the purpose, but it's probably easier to fit a large screwdriver or small prybar into the hole below the flywheel to engage the teeth and keep the flywheel from rotating. Either have someone hold it in place, or prop the prybar in place with some wood blocks and clamps.
Working from the top, slide a length (4 to 6 feet) of pipe over the handle of the breaker bar to provide extra leverage and you should be able to break the bolt loose fairly easily.
