It will be much easier to work on if you remove the seat from the car. To do so, get a set of 3/8" drive Torx sockets. Then move the seat as far back as possible, and remove the two bolts at the front of the seat track. Unplug the seat heater and seat belt warning connector (big black plastic thing that has two halves that fit into each other). Then slide the seat as far forward as possible, and remove the two rear bolts from each track. Lift the seat out.
If you have a whole new seat kit, then just cut the old springs off the seat frame and remove the old seat platform. Then attach the new platform. You do not need to remove the fabric cover from the seat. You can do all this from below the seat.
