yes. i did it for room for a nice fat down pipe, not weight bias (didn't feel like it made that big of a difference). the only really hard part was running the positive lead through the car. the ground goes straight to the frame in the trunk. i used a black plastic battery box from an auto parts store (summit's kit box is too large, i have that one too). i cut the corner out of the decking on the right hand side so i can still get to the spare tire.
the only radio interference i had was once i move the battery, i still had the power cable for my amps run to the distribution block in the engine compt on the passenger side. the battery normally acts as a capacitor in reducing the alternator noise in the radio. however, i found that with it moved, the amps amplified this noise. so i just reran the amp power to the battery in the trunk, now all is well. i also ran a new positive cable from the alternator to the dist block along the firewall instead of in front of the engine.
to date (about 1 year so far), i have not had any problems with cold cranking amps, etc. no noticeable issues have developed since the transplant. although the downpipe made a big difference.:)
