to make rewiring easier. I just finished the job. I wanted to use teflon insulated wire but got impatient and used regular stuff. I used the expensive but not milspec crimp connections with shrinkable ends. It should be OK for several more years. I had one bad wire that goes all the way around to the thermostat in the upper radiator hose. I was able to tie the new wire to the old one and drag the new one into the black shrink!
