Wet Floor, Driver's Side

It's water, not coolant. I ruled out the sunroof drains. Searched old posts, found possible culprits such as windshield, & gasket around steering bits @ firewall (though my sense is that this stays dry).
Hosed windshield for awhile w/towel laid beneath rug (but above rubber/foam mat) to detect leak but saw nothing (given the amount of h2o in carpet, I suspect it's coming in above the rubber/foam, though both are pretty wet).
Thoughts on determining leak source? Other possible sources besides windshield?
Rainy season is nowhere near over; sunny days few & far between. In-law's leaky truck has vegetation growing in carpet; don't want this in my Saab...
