and chose Pennzoil Full Synthetic at 250,000km (156,000miles). The car's previous owner had used Mobil 1 for most of its intermediate life, but had run into money troubles and so swapped (about 50,000 miles ago) to a traditional meneral oil. I re-introduced full synthetic after using a flushing oil for a day or so. So far - no leaks anywhere that I can detect. There are arguments that say there is no point in going full synth because an engine with lots of miles up is already worn to a large degree. Since these cars are so cheap to buy now (relative to original purchase price), I, for one, don't feel bad about experimenting with power upgrades - whereas I would never have even contemplated this on a new-ish one that was still under warranty. Given this, I feel that it is worth going full synth again because of the EXTRA stresses involved - particularly where the turbo itself is concerned.
Your call....
