heat and interior lighting fixed!

Well! I'm a very happy camper tonight. Home on vacation, I finally got a chance to work on my new-to-me 91 900S for the first time. There are countless things on the agenda to fix, among which were the heat and interior lights.
Just wanted to tell people who're having trouble with these things that they should...
1) DEFINITELY check to make sure the connecting rod from the heat dial in the dash back to the firewall is hooked up! I was sure mine was (as it didn't wobble around freely), but it wasn't... hooked it up, voila! I can defrost the windshield now.
2) DEFINITELY check the rheostat that's behind the directional signal switch--it controls the brightness of the dash buttons and mine was bad--put in another used one and voila! I have dash lights again.
3) If you're overhead lights don't work at all, DEFINITELY check the light switch down in the floor console--I swapped mine out from one of my family's other 900s and VOILA! I have lights on the dash now.
I wouldn't have thought of the last one--the other two were suggested. Hope this helps people who are having trouble!
