In response to your earlier thread RE the convert. The early New Generation[new body style] convertibles are probably the worst cars Saab ever released. They usually came with the opel/GM 6cylinder engine which is to be avoided[broken timing belt=no more engine and used engines are selling in the 4,000 range] All that is coupled with a top mechanism that was so unreliable that a friend who was a salesman in a Saab dealership admitted that they were literally afraid to put the top down for demonstration Before a sale was made. They really didn't get it right until the 9-3 in 1999 which put it out of reach for most of us.
An old body 900 conv. Circa 1991 and up is a pretty good car provided it is not an automatic, unfortunatly most were.
When I am in the market I usually surf Cars.com as they use all the ads from all the papers in the country.
