It should have ABS. It seems to be reliable. The LH systems are pretty foolproof and easy to maintain. There's a LH sensor, an automatic idle control, and the controller (brain). Pretty simple and durable.
Look for any oil leaks at the front of the engine, under the distibutor. This could mean a head gasket problem (very common - $600 repair).
Let it run until it is nice and hot, and make sure the fan turns on and the upper radiator hose opens properly. Then turn on the A/C and make sure both fans are on.
Have the brake fluid changed before she drives it. Also the coolant, fuel filter, plugs, distributor cap, and wires. All that won't cost too much.
I'd also suggest having the thermostat replaced when the coolant is changed.
Other than that, these are very reliable models when maintained correctly. At 60K miles, the car is barely broken in! Sounds like a great deal.
