If the car is not started after a few days, it has trouble starting. It just barely started this morning on a lazy charge. I've had the battery checked out and it's not the battery (Interstate less than a year old). The alternator and voltage regulator are both only 1 year old. Today while changing the oil with the oil filter off, I cleaned up the grounding wires; one from the alternator to starter, the other from alternator to side of the manifold where the oil dipstick is bolted. I've turned off the trunk light. Is there something else I've missed? I also noticed there's a ground wire attached to where the AC bracket bolts into the frame near the alternator, but it doesn't go to anywhere, it just dead ends about three inches from the bolt. Is this supposed to be grounded to another point?
