I have had (still have) a battery drain in my 1987 Convertible and I was having to recharge the battery if the car was left for more than a couple of days. My solution was the Sears DieHard Security battery, it solves the run down problem by kicking off with enough juice left to start the car. As a bonus, the security feature allows me to park the car, click the battery and know the car will be there when I get back. Any attempt to start the car allows the car to run for a few seconds before the battery dies, this can happen up to 3 times before the battery shuts down fully. A third benefit is the storage mode, no more removing the battery for winter storage, just follow the procedure and come the Spring reverse the procedure and the battery springs (pun intended) to life and the car starts. Probably a bit expensive and I'm not positive that they are still available. Bottom line, if in a turbo engined car make damn sure there is breating room around the totally fine heat deflector and that all cables are tight and the ground strap has a really clean bond to the frame (use some dielectric grease on the terminal, a shiny frame part and the bolt. My batteries have lasted over 10 years in some cars and less than 4 in an old Mini 850!
