BIG BIG Mistake

Out of desperation and stupidity I had the brakes done my Meinike yesterday, all was fine on the drive home and later that evening. This morning on the way to work (about 3 blocks from home) I smelled something burning and then to my horror saw that my back left tire had smoke coming out of it. It had that "breakie" burn smell and was smoking like crazy. I pulled off the road and called the Meinike, they said bring it in......So I do. When I went to check on the car they basically said nothing was wrong and that I must of been driving with the E brake on...which I know I was not, sooooooooo....what the heck happened?? Should I get my regular Saab mechanic to look at it, or could it be normal break in issues??
thanks bunches!
