I didn't know about the recently replaced MC. So then, another culprit possibility is too much air in the system. Either it was there all along and never bled out proper, or air is being introduced, although I can't say from where. Since the clutch line is seperate from the brake line, even though fed by the same fluid tank, that eliminates your brakes as a source. If air is being introduced via the slave cylinder, conceivably that air could accumulate and rise up inside the line, then enter the clutch MC to the degree where it will fail. I do know that if a clutch MC isn't bled properly, it has the exact symptom you describe - almost as if there's no fluid in it at all.
