Intermittent vibrations at highway speeds Posted by Ken [Email] (#2113) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ken) on Fri, 1 Mar 2002 11:48:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Here's the story; My 88' 900 8-valve used to drive pretty smooth (for a Saab). About a month ago, I discovered all 3 motor mounts were shot. I mean REALLY shot. So I replaced all 3. Now, when I get up to highway cruising speed (about 70mph), I sometimes get massive shaking and vibration. It doesn't do it all the time, but it's quite bad. Initially, I thought I might just need a wheel balance, but that wouldn't be intermittent, would it? I can't think of anything that I could have done when replacing the mounts that would cause an intermittent problem like this. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Ken
