The outer CV joint & the axle nut hold the wheel bearings together. If you're going to roll the car & don't have a junk CV joint, at least go to a hardware store & get a big nut & bolt & washers to hold them together.
Like patprice said, he's rolled his around in the shop, but I don't think I'd risk it for the cost of a couple big nuts & bolts.
