Hi all,
Anybody know where I could find both of the throttle body-to-AIC valve hoses for my Mom's "new" 1990 900 base 3-dr.? When she bought it, some hack had bypassed the AIC valve, plugged both the (NON-FACTORY!) thot.-to-AIC hoses, and adjusted the throttle butterfly valve way, way open to make the car idle.

To see if the AIC valve would work, I rigged up (i.e. pieced together) some bits of elbows and straight pieces from my 8V parts car's aux. air valve & PCV hoses. Each hose is 3 or 4 pieces of various bits--to accomodate the larger dia. fitting of the AIC ends vs. throttle body ends. The AIC seems to funcion well, kicking up idle at cold startup and idling normally when warm (after closing the throttle butterfly a GREAT deal via its stop screw!!!).

Only problem is, the Check Eng. light comes on and stays on, displaying codes indicating lean mix at idle and while driving. (I have read & erased codes and the same ones come back. No code is shown for the AIC, so I think AIC is OK.) My guess is leaning is coming from my (poorly) pieced together AIC hoses, creating an air leak and leaning the mix. I think I can get the codes to stop if I can JUST get the correct throttle-to-AIC hoses. Whaddya think?

Do I have to get the hoses from my SAAB dealer? Has anybody ran across a need for them? (I've had trouble finding a 16V in local NC junkyards).

TIA,
