Why do you think its flooding? Do your plugs get wet? Smell gas at tailpipe?
Fuel pressure regulator is on the end of the fuel rail, between the AC compressor & valve cover. It has a small rubber vacuum hose running to the intake manifold. There should NOT be any gasoline in that hose. If there is, you need a new regulator. If the regulator doesn't leak, but just doesn't work right, you need a fuel pressure test to tell.
I've been told that these injectors are not very prone to erosion damage, like the older ones. Mine have 215k miles & are still good.
Plugged fuel filter should make it run lean, not flood. However, you might want to replace it anyway just for age. I would not expect an O2 sensor to last that long, either.
My '89 16v non-turbo seems to be very sensitive about dirty plug wires & distributor cap. Also, they don't last as long as I'd like...
Try this check: At night with the engine cold, take off the cover for sparkplugs, turn out all the lights. Start it, look for arcing (blue glow) around any plug wires or distributor cap. Check underside of distributor cap. Some people say to spray water from a windex bottle to make it more visible. That would indicate you need new wires or cap/rotor. I wouldn't be surprised base on age.
