The valve opening inside the aux air valve itself is adjustable. Perhaps that nut jimmied loose and the valve is now stuck in the open position. Also, any and every component those vac hoses are connected to have to be sound. No ruptured diaphrams, no leaks along the aux air valve seams. The process of elimination (one by one crimping each hose shut) is a good way to isolate any leaky component.
