As DET states, removal of the seat is simple. Once you have the seat out, be careful when you unhook the springs that pull the cover against the seat. These must be unhooked before you peel the cover off or you will tear out the metal hoop(I forget the official name), which is sewn into a fabric pocket. I ripped out this pocket the first time I took a seat apart to fix the heater element. Sometimes this pocket will have worn out anyway. If so, I would take the seat to an upholstery shop and have them resew the seat bottom and replace the fabric pocket and metal hoop with a heavy strip of edging. The springs can be hooked into this strip to hold the seat cover firmly to the seat.
